Radiotherapy is what the docs call a 'local' treatment for my cancer. What this means is that rather than put drugs into me that make my whole body better, they aim to just kill the tumor itself. What they use for this is like an XRay machine aimed at killing off all the nasty bits of tumor. The actual treatment is only 5 minutes each day..cool...AND it won't make me feel too sick and ill....AND it won't give me vile mouth infections like the 'BIG' Chemos... I have radiotherapy at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford (just around the corner from the Radcliffe) Love M. X. |
